Cool Thanks for the feedback and pointers. FSAirlines has gotten so complicated even those of us who have been doing it a long time still miss features. LOL
And on the schedule edit, is that why when I went to assign it, it showed two versions of the same schedule? 1/4 and 3/4.

Re: Automated Pilots: Limited Beta
Its showing two versions because there are two legs of that schedule that depart that airport. If your trying to resume a schedule you may not always want to start at the beginning, say its noon and you have a leg that departs in the morning and another that departs in the afternoon, you may not want to wait until the next day to have them start. This way the manager has full control over it.
1/4 is the first of four, 3/4 is the third of four

ahhhhh well at least people watching and learning with me can see I am just the blind leading the blind. LOL Hope the two video's combined will cover enough to get people pointed in the right direction at least.

Re: Automated Pilots: Limited Beta
Definitely helps, and very much appreciated you taking time to make them. I followed along and made notes. I look forward to upgrading my account and trying this out myself.

Re: Automated Pilots: Limited Beta
Hello,
Instead of kicking the Automated Pilots when they reach 100 hours within 28 days flight time... would it be possible to get a "send on leave"? I see there is a "ground pilot" option.. but would it be hard to implement an option to send on leave taking away the green icon and putting it as a purple one for an example?
The automated Pilot system is awesome and I'm really enjoying it! But it can be tedious looking for crew for flights sometimes as I can't see who has maxed out without searching all of their logs.

Re: Automated Pilots: Limited Beta
Have you seen the 'Pilot List' page, its in the options off the VA overview page. It lists lots of useful data for bot pilots including hours in 28 days, happiness and lots more. See if it shows what you need.BMIScrumpy wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2025 2:04 am Hello,

Re: Automated Pilots: Limited Beta
We had reached the limit early in the week. But things are running ok right now so I bumped the limit from 250 to 400.
Get them while they are hot.

Re: Automated Pilots: Limited Beta
Two things I have found in my own experiments.
When setting pilot pay, I set their ranks so they are paid by the hour rather than by percentage of revenue. That way they get consistent pay to cover their expenses and keep them happy regardless of how much or how little the flight they are scheduled to makes. In my test airline I am using 250 per hour.
When setting up the days of week for the schedules, you of course have to set the days of the week the pilot should fly so they don't go over the 100 hours per week limit, but its only really necessary to set it on the first flight in the schedule, that way they only start it on certain days of the week but if something happens to disrupt one of their flights they will still finish.

Re: Automated Pilots: Limited Beta
I laid all my autobot pilots off so others can have some fun. I have a lot going on in RL right now and checking in on them daily is going to be a bit much here in the near future anyway.

Re: Automated Pilots: Limited Beta
Hello! We need A320neo type rating for automated pilots. Now we have only standard A320 family types. Thank you!

Re: Automated Pilots: Limited Beta
There is no separate rating for the A320neo, a pilot with an A320 type certificate can fly any variant of the A320, from the A318 to the A321neo. Likewise a pilot with a TC for the Boeing 737 can fly anything from a 737-100 to a 737 Max.
This is modeled on how real world TC's work, as long as the operations of the aircraft are the same they share a TC. The 757 and 767 were designed so they function the same to the pilots so they share a TC.
Interestingly there are separate TC's for the 747-100 through 747-300 from the 747-400 and 747-8 as the earlier aircraft have a flight engineer and the later aircraft do not.

Re: Automated Pilots: Limited Beta
I have upped the limit of bot pilots on the system from 400 to 500 and I have also temporarily limited the number of pilots an airline can hire to 10.
Now if you already have more than 10 then you get to keep all of them but you can't hire more. I am doing this so that the existing airlines don't go and snap up the new pilots before those who are not part of the beta can get them.
I am monitoring the job that processes the automated flights, it runs every five minutes and at the beginning of January it was taking on average less than a second to run, yesterday it was almost 3 seconds and I am a bit worried about overloading the system so I am proceeding slowly.
