I propose as an idea the possibility of searching flight plans by departure and arrival airport, in order to find a route quickly. This not only helps in the search but also avoids heavy queries to the database when you have many records.

I'd vote for that, good idea. I was just scrolling through my list trying to figure out why a certain route was not coming up. Finally found it and got it fixed (fleet assignment thing) but it would have been much faster to type in DEP ARV locations to pinpoint it.
Larger hubs with lots of departing flights it can sometimes be a pain to find the arrival location one is looking for to make a flight route edit, etc.

Now if we had a separate drop down for ''Flights Arriving' and 'Flights Departing' we would not need the two drop downs selecting the types.
But having said that what makes this idea complicated is that when you say 'Flights Departing' and select an airport, then the other airports in the list are the airports that you can depart to, but if we have to calculate what the values should be on both sides, I am not quite sure what to do.

Too complicated, then do nothing. Works fine as it is.
