New Features: August 2018 (Routes)
Hi Flyers
I have been working on adding some new features to the routes/flight plan system. Basically you will be able to:
1) Rather than selecting all of the aircraft types that can use a route, you can now set it so that All Aircraft can use a route.
2) You can now select the fleets that are allowed to use a route, by default all fleets can use a route but now you will be able to set it so that only aircraft belonging to one or more fleets will be allowed to fly it.
Let me know if there are any issues with it.
Joe.

Hi Michel, thanks for reporting it, I think I found the problem and it should be fixed now.

Hello friends! Thanks for the new features, but the getBookableAircraft function of the XML Interface doesn't work. I have opened a ticket with this issue.

Re: New Features: August 2018 (Routes)
Sorry about these problems, I have reverted the code and any routes that were changed to use 'all aircraft' were either set back to there old value from the previous backup, but for 8 routes that were created after that backup I deleted them so that they would not cause problems.
I will continue to work on this and fix the reported problems before I push it out again.

Re: New Features: August 2018 (Routes)
Just FYI Joe,
I am now showing aircraft name/fleet when I go to book a flight. I guarantee this will confuse the heck out of my guys as they have no clue for the most part what aircraft is named what.
Suggest perhaps type/registration number or registration number / fleet but without the type listed it will cause extra work for pilots, especially new ones to figure out which aircraft is which .... especially on larger VA's like ours where we have 100 aircraft.

Hey Sam - That's not what I get when I go to book flight
I have:
check box - type - Registration - status -Operator - then fuel in kg
under the Operator column it posts the aircraft name if any / fleet it is in

Hmmmmm,
maybe the new operator column distracted me? I will have to check again after I fly the flight booked.
Thanks

The operator column has always been there but before it just showed aircraft name, so I changed it to include name plus fleet or just fleet if there is no name. I did not want to add another column as the table would get too wide. Open to making changes to it so its clearer.

Re: New Features: August 2018 (Routes)
Another new feature I just rolled out is that FSA Aviation is now buying back aircraft. The way it decides which to buy back that day is it first calculates the number of days its been on the market, then a price factor based on the aircrafts value, if the price is 100% the value the factor is 0, 90% is 0.5, at 80% its 1, 60% is 2 etc. These two numbers are multiplied to figure the percent chance it will be purchased that day.
I ran it twice today and already over 75 AC have been purchased back.

Re: New Features: August 2018 (Routes)
Total Blonde Moment on the post earlier, please disregard .... sheeish Maybe I should fully wake up first before I get all panicky.
Wondered why all of a sudden 5 of our aircraft sold today. That's cool, thanks!
After seeing our route mess, we decided to streamline operations and I've already taken all the aircraft in our "out of service" fleet (pending sale) out of our routes.
We realized that a true virtual airline cannot be everything .... so we closed our "Flying Museum", cut back on the types of bush aircraft in service and have refocused on our core: USA Domestic FAA Part 121 operations.

Hi Joe,
Thanks for having FS Airlines buy back aircraft that have been on the market a certain length of time.
Regards,
Scott

Re: New Features: August 2018 (Routes)
I just released some new code that cleans up some of the of the columns on the airport table in the database. Country, Region and City information has been rebuilt, several obsolete columns removed from the database tables. I tried my best to make sure I found and corrected all the old references but if you see something wrong shout out!

Re: New Features: August 2018 (Routes)
hello, im trying to take advantage of the new "All aircraft" feature on my existing flightplans
so i have exported my existing flightplans.txt file old aircraft format, for example ,C172, 261,,1x, etc etc
and replace it with:
,All Aircraft,-1,,1x, etc etc
but when i try to import the txt file it says "Error on line 1: couldn't find aircraft, "
the -1 code was there in the flightplans added manual thru the webpage,
does it work different when you try to import the flightplans from txt files?
