Forum Hacked!

Post by joefremont » Tue Apr 18, 2017 3:35 pm

Hi Flyers!

Looks like last night the forum got hacked. I restored it from a backup but we lost 7 days worth of activity. It looks like they managed to guess my password so if you like me HAD a simple password you had not changed in a while I advise you to update it. I don't believe they got access into the database or the server itself so I don't think it went beyond that.

Joe.

Jealousy ...

People see you doing good things and improving everything and they can't stand that. Always easier to tear something down than to build it up.

Karma will get them in the end. She is a ruthless bitch. ;)

Thanks for the update. Another tip is to try to NEVER share the same password. If they get the forum password then they can get your email, bank account, social networks...

It seems they did it just for "fun"; not because they had anything special against this community. A real hacker would have warned you instead of causing damage. Anyway... life goes on...

Thanks for keeping up this community.

They may have sent an email blast, so anyone getting strange emails should just delete the email.
