I can not lease our CH-53 or sell!

Post by frakos » Fri Oct 15, 2010 8:18 pm

Hallo!
At the start of FamilyAir I have a CH-53 ordered at FSAirlines because he was'nt in the list of manufacturers.
After a year of service I wanted to lease or sell him now to another airline. Unfortunately, this is not possible for this helicopter.
I have only the option to scrap! In the database of aircraft I've found it also not more.

Manufacturer Sikorsky
Type CH-53
ICAO ID H53

Owner FamilyAir
Registration D-HFA01
Name stoertebecker
Location EDWG

Passenger capacity 38
Fuel in the tank 1369 kg
Cruising speed 150 kt
Range 450 nm
Empty weight 10700 kg
Maximum weight without fuel 19050 kg
Maximum takeoff weight 19050 kg
Hold 8350 kg

Status 98.7%
Total flight hours 26.34
Total landings 150
Last review 03/14/2010

Value $ 3,759,208 v

It is possible this helicopter back to the database, or to allow the sale or lease?
Thank you in advance for your help!
With regards from

The CH-53 is considered a "Special Use" aircraft as it is not an aircraft not normally available for purchase by civilian operators. As such, we limited purchasing of the aircraft to only those whom were interested at the time we released it, such as yourself. If you no longer want it, your only option is to scrap it, as with all other "Special Use" aircraft as we do not want this aircraft heavily populating the network since it is not an aircraft that has ever been available in numbers.

Re: I can not lease our CH-53 or sell! (ATR-72Fs too?)

Hi

I am trying to sell (or lease) one or two ATR72-Freighter (not passenger) aircraft to a partner airline, but the only option I get is to scrap it. Does this fall into the same trap as the aforementioned CH53? If so, that is a bit of a shame because I know that the airline in question has only recently been setup and really would like to fly ATR72-500Fs as one of its main airframes.

Before I left as admin, we changed ATR-72-500 Freighter to "Prototype" because no real ATR-72-500's have been built or converted to Freighters, and we accidentally let it into the system. Since people had already bought them, we didn't want to just take them away, so changing it to "Prototype" was the best solution.

Thanks for the explanation Chris; I hadn't realised the "unreal" status of that airframe.

Unfortunately we didn't either and let it into the database in the first place. A conversion has been offered and ATR does list a freighter version for sale, but as of now, one hasn't been built/converted.
