Earn money by own plane

Post by sturman » Sun Jan 03, 2010 1:54 am

Now, when there has come decision-making time. I wish to ask a question on prospects.

Whether possibility will be given single pilots to earn money by own planes?

For many pilots who were CEO of the small companies is an important question. To remain or not in game?

I highly doubt you will be able to use a private plane for profit because it is a private plane, not operated by charter. It is operated by you for personal transportation and YOU pay the fuel and operating costs.

In a real life such possibility exist. Recollect a film "Six Days Seven Nights" with Harrison Ford.

It is game, and it should be cheerful. Such possibility to earn with own plane would make game more interesting. It can even involve users from other similar games, for example FSE.

look at the back of that plane on the tail... what does it have? a company logo. in that movie he didnt own that plane personally and flew it as a charter/airline, it was owned and operated by the company, even if he owned the company, it was still a company plane which you can already do

On a tail it is written "Harris". It is a surname of character Qinn Harris which has played Harrison Ford. :D It is private aircraft...

Sorry, but it is not a private aircraft. If you are flying for hire, you must be certificated as an airline of some form or another, thus you must have a company. We will not allow personal aircraft to be used for profit, only as personal transports for fun. If you want to fly small planes for profit, then make your own airline.

In addition, most real world airlines have rules against their pilots from being able to work for another airline or their own airline on their time off. They can do things like getting paid to fly skydivers, but they can only do so as an employee of the company, not as an owner. Still, that skydiving company (whether they own it or not) is certificated as a skydiving operation - and thus, is for our purposes, another airline.

Say, any pilot has earned many money in any company. Then it has left and has bought the plane. Then he has obtained the licence and began to earn by the plane transportation of people and cargoes. In your country such situation is impossible? May be. Then, it is pleasant to me to realise that I live in the free country where such situation is possible.

In that case, I suggest to leave possibility to create the company with only one pilot, for users with the standard account.

P.S.: Nothing negative. I simply do not play for a payment or for the sake of money. Such vital principles...

In order to operate with most civil air authorities, you would need to obtain a civil transport license in the appropriate category (such as an FAA Part 121)

No, such a situation isn't impossible. You are not properly reading what I have said. In the United States, the European Union, and Russia, any airplane being flown for hire must be operated under a Operating Certificate of some form and that Operating Certificate requires that a company actually exist to hold that certificate. Thus - you must start an airline to be able to fly an aircraft, no matter how owned, to receive compensation for transporting passengers or cargo between two locations.

In the United States, this means that you must either hold a Part 91 Air Transport Certificate, or a Part 121 or Part 135 Airline Operating Certificate (AOC). In addition, you (the pilot) must hold at minimum a Commercial Pilot's License.

However, the airlines, as a term of employment have every right to prevent you from operating your own airline/air transport operation as it conflicts directly with your profession (getting paid by an airline to fly passengers or cargo) and places you in a situation where you may actually compete with their services.

It is too much reasonings with examples from a life in the USA. The world is much more richly in the variety.

But I have not received the simple direct answer to my question in the first message:

Whether possibility will be given single pilots to earn money by own planes?
