Passenger Weight

Another thing I have encountered is that all the passengers same to weigh 102kg no matter what age they are. What about families, or if different ages are not put in why not randomly pick between 60-120kg for the wight of each passenger?

I think the 102kg includes a 27kg baggage allowance, so the actual passenger weight is 75kg which is probably a good average.

In the real world, one uses a "standard" weight for each passenger and his/her baggage when planning the weights for a flight. FSAirlines is similar to that and it uses 82 KG per person and 25 KG of baggage. This is similar to the current ICAO & IATA guidance regarding flight planning.

Ummm, that seems to be 107kg ??

Based on the load plans I get when flying, I come to 182 pounds per person (or 82kg) and 55 pounds of bags (or 25kg).

When I get '3 passengers' :
- Passengers weight 3 x 102Kg = 306Kg
- cargo = 61Kg

Does that mean : I have in my aircraft
- 3 passengers + their baggage (306Kg)
- other things cargo (61Kg)
- myself and crew to add ?

If it is, I suggest to add information about my last line : the total weight of the crew. So, each VA must enter the number of crew in each flight or make a default value by aircraft type in FSAirlines.

Example :
< 10 places => Crew = 1 pilot (102 Kg)
10 < places < 20 => Crew = 1 pilot + 1 copilot (2 x 102Kg)
20 < places < 30 => Crew = 1 pilot + 1 copilot + hostess or steward (3 x 102Kg), etc...

This info could also used for the number of passengers to be affected when booking a flight. In a flight where there are many stewards could attract more people than normal. Number of passengers affected could not exced number of places availiable minus number of crew fellows.

Typically, required crew is included in the basic operating weight of the aircraft. This is why for most airplanes, the empty weight in the database is between 500 and 600 pounds heavier than the model's empty weight.
