Parking brake penalty

Post by rob hirst » Mon Oct 06, 2008 9:00 pm

Hey guy's,

How do you get the parking brake penalty? I've been pinged on it twice now, the only two flights I've done since the new clients and I don't recall being @done@ for it before. I haven't changed the way I fly (I think). Any help would be great as I'm losing 5 off my rep each time.

Cheers to the developers for the new client by the way. It's easy to use!

Hi Rob,

You will get the parking brake penalty if you end the flight without putting the parking brake on. Check the debug info in the client window before you hit the end flight button and ensure it reads Parking brake = True.

Right, I'll check this. I'm 100% sure I've engaged the brake on both the flights I've been pinged on. They were flown with two different airrcaft too so I'm not sure what's happenned here. I'll investigate further before replying again.

BTW I no longer get the seatbelt "ding" when shutting down, with this new client - related or not? I'm wondering if the client is recognising that the flight is finished?

Hi Rob,

No, the sound alerts have changed and there is no longer the ding at the end of the flight as we used to know it. Park brakes on, into client, end flight button, wait for response/summary when you can then 'scroll' through the summary pages.

I have had no further issues with this. It seems it was my fault (no suprise there then!)

Thanks for the assistance.

Two comments.

1) You can actually see the status of the parking brake in the client window before pressing "end flight".
2) The client refers to "breaks" instead of "brakes" ;)
