Booking state

Post by Kirk » Sat Sep 20, 2008 2:16 pm

Hi folk, I've been searching for the problem I have, but i haven't found anything, so if it's posted anywhere else, sorry in adnvantage.

By flying from LEMG to EGLL, with the new client FSA 1.0 while on cruise, the main FSA webpage shows my flight as "Booked" (the red light instead of the yellow/lightbrown one). That's weird, because my client shows the message (cruise) and is not frozen. So my question is: Do I have a problem with the clien, do I have to download anything, it's just an ISP connection problem or what? I've tried the flight for three times, and alwyas the same.

Thanke you

Adrián.

Yes

Sweden's naughtiest bin lid has just told me on MSN that he has the same problem. I looked, and he is right. He is flying but his status still says booked. :?

If you have a look the client's options, is the activate tracker setting checked?

if you want to regularly send your current position to the website you have to activate it. Otherwise the website doesn't know that you're currently flying and so resets the flight to "booked" until it is finished.

Going on from this:

The same is happening with me now. I was showing in the Flight Monitor as Taxiing, then take-off, then climb, then cruise.

I am still flying yet now my status on the Flight Monitor and my VA Home page have gone back to "booked". The Client itself says I am in Cruise.

I think this is something that needs looking at by Konny et al, please.

I have the Flight Tracker checked in the Client.

Thank you.

Further Update.

I am now showing up on the Flight Monitor again. How puzzling. :?

Perhaps the Client could not get through to the server to update the flight's progress and as a result the status on the site itself and the Flight Monitor went back to booked. I assume the Client then managed to get through to the server later on in the flight, which in turn updated the flight's actual status.

Edit: Even as I typed the above, the status dropped out of the monitor again. :?

Edit 2: It seems that if you are in "Cruise" for too long, the Client gets bored and goes to sleep, therefore not updating the server. Once you start to descend or climb, it wakes up and updates the server.
