Flight Problem

Post by GPT-101 » Fri May 09, 2008 8:00 am

just started a flight in the client, set my parking brake to spool up the engines in my 747-400, and the client logged the flight as if i had landed at the same airport i was departing from. VA took a large hit in cash.. could you please remove this flight from our log, refund the money, and correct my pilot rating?
Log follows:

Hi

Just an observation.
It seems you started from the active (having only used 9lb fuel). Maybe if you start more realistically (at a gate!) the client will detect brakes off/on better?

you said you were flying the 747, but the report says you were flying a 737-400... which one?

the place that you start at doesnt affect it... if you need to spool up like that, then just use the brakes, or set the parking brakes before you start the client... this happened to me too when i first started...

In this case I think deleting the flight is unnessesary. Even though that flight lost money, most of that was on fuel you did not have to buy on your next flight. The profit you made on the next flight with this aircraft more than canceled the loss.

Over the last couple of flights (Schoenefeld EDDB to Brussels EBBR using a PIC 737-400 and Brussels EBBR to Indhira Gandi International VIDB) when the flights have completed and parking brake applied, the client hasn't picked up the completed flight, and left the flight booked, which has meant me cancelling the flight so that I can try to fly others.
Looks like the client lost connection, but I've posted the log details below:

Dont know about the problem imediately above but the one at the top can be caused if your aircraft is not correctly on the ground.IE.if you go into the outside view and your aircraft starts bouncing the proggy thinks you have taken off and so next time you put the brake on it will finish the flight. To cure this you can alter the "static centre of gravity" under the contacts section till you can take the outside view without your aircraft bouncing. It will take a lot of tries before you get it right but you can just reselect the aircraft each time you make an adjustment and then take the outside view to see if it is still bouncing.Hope this helps.

Hiya Stan,
Definately no bouncing seen from anywhere at any point, however late in the flight to VIDP, FS9 decided to reload the scenery for some reason! something that has never happened before.

I have heard about this problem before where MSFS suddenly starts reloading the scenery. It is caused by crossing into different time zones. You will need some program that will fix your time zone problem. My mind is a blank at the moment but if i can think of one i will let you know.I am sure somebody else reading this will be able to help.

Just had a look on Avsim and found "Time Zone 3.0" file (tz30.zip).This will probably fix your problem.

Thanks Stan for looking :D ...
It's odd that this is the first time that this has ever occurred though, even though I've flown long routes across multiple time zones before :? ...

It sometimes only affects you going one way accross the zones. But it is a MSFS problem not a Flynet problem.Flynet simply detects that you have altered the time and cancels the flight.

I am not convinced its a time zone problem. I have flown around the world multiple times in flynet (both directions) and never had this problem.

This is wierd.
This time, flight from Berlin to Brussels, all went well, except, no 'bing-bong' when parked at gate. Client wouldn't to allow for pilot comment and failed also to terminate when FS9 was terminated, so had to kill client (microsoft reported program not responding message), and also machine reboot.
On coming back on line and checking the VA, found the flight had in fact completed, but on checking the log file, had a line thus:
Fehler mysql_real_connect():2003 (Can't connect to MySQL server on 'mysql6.turksim.org' (10060))
and at the end of the log file:
Airline Income: 11142.000000
Old Airline Budget: -671088640
New Airline Budget: -1275068416
Not sure what these relate to, but they don't seem to equate to airline budgets as I'm in profit :?
just what is going on?

Could you have lost your internet connection during the flight? Are there any .out or .log files in the directory where your flynet.exe program is located?

Don't worry to much about the airline budget lines, thats part of an old method of recording airline income we don't use any more.

Morning Joe :)
There are 4 .OUT files:
debug, 881, log and report. Report is empty.
I've also disabled flight tracking in the hope that this will also help resolve the problem for me.
Thanks so much for your interest. :)
