Press Release: November 19th, 2007:

North Eastern Airways (NEA, S.M.- NAW) and our creditors have decided that the Bombardier CRJ family will completely retired from our fleet and will be replaced by the BAE 146 family of jets. This is do to the better qualities of the BAE 146, lower operating costs, and the actual cost of the aircraft. Our first delivery of the BAE 146-300 will be in the next few days, we placed an order for 15 aircraft just past 9:15 AM on the 19th of November. "We are now in the process of our anxious wait to start their flights." They will be used as regionals throughout our routes, but will also be used as bush planes up in Alaska. The main fleet will be stationed out of our future hub at Kissimmee Gate Way airport. It will serve the south with cheap flights, and will also provide flights going to vacationers hotspots, including the caribean, cancun, the bahamas, and much, much more.

Press Release: January 16th, 2008

North Eastern Airways (NEA, S.M.-NAW) has been given the approval from our creditors to be allowed to spend a reported 700 million dollars, for the acquisition of the bank rupted Sky Japan Airways. NEA will keep most of the planes from SJA, but will be selling some. NEA will also be taking over SJA's route system in Japan. NEA was planning on opening up a Hub in Japan for NEA's new divison there, but now will just take over the current gates at RJAA that SJA opperated from. NEA should start opperations out of RJAA around the begining of Feburary, but no specific date has been set as of now. This Buyout will make NEA one of the largest Airlines around. More Info on this story will be available in the near future.

Press Release: January 19th, 2008

North Eastern Airways (NEA, S.M.-NAW) has received fifteen Boeing MD-83's that were part of a 700 million dollar buyout of SJA. NEA will start operations of these jets, on the first of February, when NEA opens up our new RJAA hub that was left from SJA. Tomorrow NEA will start the process of having the titles transferred over into NEA's name from SJA's. During the next few days, NEA will also be taking possession of the one Boeing 747-400D, and 777-200ER, three Airbus A300-600's, and five A321-200's, and the one Embraer ERJ-145ER.

Also included in the deal are two training aircraft, both of which are Cessna 172 Skyhawks. We are considering selling the Skyhawks, but no further information on that is known. This day will mark the start of our operations in Japan, and the start of NEA becoming one of the largest airlines around.

Press Release: February 11th, 2008

NAW has gone RETRO!!!

North Eastern Airways (NEA, S.M.-NAW) has ordered a whole fleet of different types of aircraft that opperated back in the 40's, 50's, 60's, and 70's. The types will include the Boeing 707-320, 727-200Adv, 737-200Adv, 747-200, DC-8-73, DC-9-30/50, DC-10-30, and for a cargo plane we will add my personal fav. (my RW airport has one of the only to left in flying condition in the US) the C-123K provider. We will also enter into service a few propliners at this time also, they will include the DC-6, and Convair 240/340/440/580/5800. We will also have a special repaint in a retro livery just for all of these aircraft. We will try to make historic routes that actually used these aircraft, but not certain if that will be possible.

This marks a new chapter in NEA's history, and will provide more options for pilots wanting to fly historical aircraft. we will possibly add old propliners back from the 20's-50's, like the DC-3, DC-4, the Coni. , early convairs, etc...

Our current 747SP's will remain in our frontline opps. but has been transferred into the retro fleet. These aircraft will have the current livery painted on them due to them being modernized, but a handful will be painted with our retro livery.
