Flight booking

Post by Toiletmot » Mon Nov 19, 2007 4:01 pm

This might have been mentioned already didn't look around on the forum but..
how about booking a flight on the flynet client rather than have to go to the website to book a flight?
just a thought..would be much more convenient

but the only thing is, i think it could slow down the client, and computer, because it would have to be heavily modified, and things added that could possibly slow it down.

that doesn't make any sense?...it would run as a different module in the client self and would only be used while booking a flight..there's no reason it should slow down you computer or game

well wat im trying to say is, it would almost have to affect it someway, even if it was just in the beginning. and the layout would have to be changed to acomodate the addition of the flights...

yup, that's definitely not a bad idea but we first have to concentrate on the things only the client can do. That's more important for the moment, but when things improve we might talk about this again.

Still on the subject, what about booking a flight directly from the VA's Flight Schedule/Plan on FlyNet website. There is already a choice on what Aircraft you want to fly with and or Airport you would like to depart from. It also shows a flight that have been booked.

If the pilot are restricted, due to the VA regulations, to fly a particular aircraft then the system automaticaly refuses the choice. If the pilot is at a diffrent point of departure, the system automaticaly prompt a choice for th epilot to choose, to purchase a ticket for the new departure or cancell the booking.

I believe this will make the booking much more easier for the pilot and the system. The Flight Booking choice under the personal/pilot can be deleted. :)

Hi,

From CBFS point of view it is preferable the way it is. The flight choice is already filtered by Pilot's location, Pilot's Type Ratings and aircraft availability. If the requested feature were to be implemented then I would request current system is left available for use as well.

Hello John,

Until now I still not able to book flights from CBFS site. It just show a blank list with headings. So each time I have to go to FlyNet to book a flight. The other thing is, the list of flights available under the "VA" Flight Plan differs from the one under "Personal/Pilot" Book Flight. In this case if you already got the "rating" to fly all type of aircrafts.

That is one of the reasons I suggested to use the "VA" Flight Plan to book flights, among other reasons since it give you a lot more choices......... :)

they are diff. because they are all ready filtered.

say u have a flight from airport A going to B, and u fly it with aircraft A (which is a 737). once at airport B, u wanna fly a/c B (which is a 757), if a/c B is not at airport B already, then the flights using a/c B wont show up in the book flight page. so only the flights that use a/c A which is already at airport B, will be shown in the book flight page. other things that filter it out is, u might not have the type rating or the right type rating for the A/C , aircraft that is to be used in not at the airport, and there is one more thing that filters it out i believe, but it is excaping my head...
