AW-139 MTOW

Post by Shalomar » Sat Oct 17, 2020 8:04 pm

The FSAirlines client says the max weight of the Augusta Westland 139 is 14,100 pounds. X-rotors; the dev of my chopper; says it is 14,900 pounds.

If I do not set limits on cargo and passengers; the client consistently loads me up so much I can't carry enough fuel to complete the flight. The last time I tried; I could only carry 20 minutes of fuel for a 100 NM flight. If FSAirlines would allow me to take off at 14900 lb; I would have much better margins.

In April 2008, AgustaWestland revealed that it was in the process of certifying an increase in the AW139's max gross weight to 14,991 lb (6,800 kg) to better compete in long-range markets served by helicopters such as the larger Sikorsky S-92 and Eurocopter EC225.

I see someone put an update for the AW-139 with edits along the way you mentioned but I am going to reject it because the submission does not include a web link to a reputable reference confirming the changes. Just because they were in the process in 2008 does not mean they ever did it and the wikipedia link we have still shows the 6400 kg MTOW, but does make reference to a 7 t version which would probably qualify for a separate entry in the database.
