Incorrect iCAO Code for Johannesburg, South Africa

Post by XonixZA » Sun Sep 27, 2020 10:59 am

Good afternoon.

South Africa's main international airport situated in Johannesburg's ICAO code is incorrect in FSAirlines. In the past it used to be Johannesburg International, (FAJS) but in 2013 the airport was renamed to Oliver Thambo International (FAOR). May you please update this in your database? Many thanks and regards.

I can't tell you how disappointed I am because literally the previous post in this section asked the exact same question and you did not bother to search.

So here is the answer from that previous post.

I can't seem to find faor, is it not in the system?
It is, but we are still using the older code FAJS

Read more about it here.

Now with MSFS out the prospect updating the codes may be sooner rather than later but at the moment I don't have a way to extract all the codes from MSFS into our system.

Hi, thank you for your response, and apologies for the distress and disappointment that I've caused you with my duplicate post. At least my post is now listed with a descriptive subject for pilots who would like to visit the South African Capital which (like the rest of the virtual world) appears to be ruled by MS Flight Simulator.
