2 days ago I saw they are alot of Package (more then 400`000kg) at MC Murdo Station for send to the world.
Only 2 or 3 flight been there.
So I book my flight, but no Package from Christchurch to MC Murdo Station.
And now? No Package from MC Murdo Station for bring back.
How is that possible?
Thank you.

Re: No Package at Antarctica Station MC Murdo
I just checked, sure enough on April 6 there were 236 packages totaling 28640 kg at NZIR and now there are none. I think there are two things in the packages system that hit us here. First the package system does not generate packages for airports that are not considered 'active' and it defines that by the number of flights that arrived in the last 90 days, and the previous flight was Dec 26, 22:08. Second when a package is generated, if not moved in two weeks it expires.
So that last flight was 109 days ago and at 104 days (90 + 14) the last of the packages would expire. I will give the package generator another kick and hopefully when you depart there will be some packages.

Hello Joe
Thank you so much.

I was looking at the flight that had flown into the Mc Murdo ice runway and thinking its hard enough for a specially equipped C-130 to land there, but a 747? 777? Concord? They would probably just fall right through the ice.
Well to each there own, happy flying.
