users name versus real name

I was wondering why when your apply for va you ask for a user name I know you use it for signing in too flight manager but as pilots why the real name are shown live why cant you just show the user name instead of real name (maybe have in your records but not live) I am getting that question often and some will not join because of having their real name being shown (i get them just to add there game name instead) just your thoughts for administration and from other members thanks for your time Robert ceo/EasternHops
