Prepar3D incompatablilty.

Post by RandyH » Tue Jan 10, 2012 6:44 pm

I am trying out the Lockheed Martins's version of FSX...Prepar3D and I am getting:

Version Unknown and a Simconnect 1.2 [needed: 10.0] and Wrong Airport errors.

I was just wondering if you guys had any plans to support Prepar3D?

We have not discussed Prepar3D yet, not sure if we will its a bit pricey and Lockheed does state on the website
As provided in our End User License Agreement, the Prepar3D application is not to be used, offered, sold or distributed through markets or channels for use as a personal/consumer entertainment product
But you never know. We will have to see how this product fares in the market and how many of our pilots want to use it.

Well, some representatives from LHM cleared this up some time ago: P3D won't be in distribution channels for the consumer market, but everybody can get a delevopers licens for $9.99 a month and use Perpar3D as he pleases.

There is a increasing amount of people jumping on that bandwagon, and I fully expect to see much more after the next P3D update when the engine will offer DX11 support. So I think it's worth keeping an eye on...

This is very true darem.

I thought it was worth testing for $10 a month and I am impressed with what I see.

I like the idea of having ongoing support and improvements....to me this is worth $10 a month by its self.

The graphics are much better than FSX, in my opinion. I am getting slightly better Frame Rates and so far most of my add on planes work fine.

I think I would keep using it and paying my $10 a month if I could get it to work with FSA. You guys are a lot of my flying, so I am hoping you take the time to take a quick look, one of these days and see if you have any ideas of what it keeping it from working.

I am posting my results of my Prepar3D testing over at http://www.flightsimulatornetwork.com if anyone has an interest in Prepar3D.

We are loving FSA over at The Flight Simulator Network.

For a little more encouragement for you guys to take a look at Prepar3d and the Simconnect issues:

1. Prepar3D is offering a 30 free trial on PC Pilot Magazine....see here http://www.prepar3d.com/pcpilot/

2. Microsoft Flight appears to be going to be an Arcade Game...disappointing many thousands of us Simmers. FS9 is geting very old and FSX never was designed to work on today's CPU's and never will.

3. Prepar3D is the only hope for flight simmers in the future. Lockheed Martin, at least now, is dedicated to work on and constantly improve the Prepar3D version of FSX.

Do us simmers and yourself a favor and take a look at the simconnect issue with Prepar3D...........Please!!

Could we have some hope that the client FSairlines will be adapted to Prepar3D?
FSUICP, IVAO and so on, have done his product compatible.
I think Prepar3D will be the platform in a near future.

Thanks in advance, and excuse my poor english.

Well, if FSUIPC is compatible to Prepar3D, the Client should actually work, too. Unfortunately I can't try it myself, but if you install FSUIPC for Prepar3D and switch the FS Interface to "FSUIPC" in the Client settings, it should work.

I don't see the option to switch the FS Interface to "FSUIPC" in the Client settings.
See the attached file.

Where Konny is referring to is when you launch the client and login, on the left hand side, there is an options section. Inside of this options section you can select Auto, SimConnect or FSUIPC. Setting it to FSUIPC will force the client to use FSUIPC.
