Post by theodorkk » Sat Jun 12, 2010 10:46 pm

hello. i have been playing with fsairlines for a while now. and i decided to start my own airline. so i did. it all worked fine. then my trial ran out and i had to buy the premium member ship. and right before i started to pay i changed to windows 7 x64 and now i get this error every time im flying. it says "fatal error" and shuts down fsx in the middle of a flight! so now i have payed 30 freekin euros for something that wont work! what should i do?? i want my money back if it cat be fixed!!

That sounds more like an FSX error than something related to FSAirlines. If you could give us the more exact error, that would be helpful.

did you do the default installation of FSX? Meaning installed it in c:\program files etc etc...

if thats the case, i recommend install it on another location, preferring a seperate drive, like a D:\ or E:\

Windows 7 has a whole new security setup on their folders which could cause errors in FSX with Crash to Desktops.

Also, did you have any addons installed? Like Rex, or addon aircrafts?? They can cause errors as well.

i promisse you its not caused by fsx. without fsairlines it doesnt crash at all and runs perfectly. i have tried without any addons at all. and the same thing happend. so it has to be the client thats making the problem :(

you mention that everything worked fine until you migrated to windows 7 and all troubles started.

I doubt it's caused by fsclient. I have windows 7 x64 as well and a shitload of addons and don't have the problem with the fs client.

Which client do you use? the beta version or the released version? And again, where did you install FSX? Default or a different folder outside of program files??

I have to agree with Edwin. It sounds like its a Windows 7 issue somewhere.

A) Which version of WIndows 7 are you using? (Starter, Professional, etc.)

B) Are you using the plug-in or the stand-alone version of the client

C) Is the FSAirlines.dll file in your Modules folder for FS if you are using the plug-in version?

D) Do you get an error that says something similar to "A fatal error has occurred. Please close the program and try again" or one that says "0x013179641 *Insert the rest of the error message here*" or something not close to either one of these?

i think you wont get much problems on moving it to another drive, but when moving if i'm correct the security will be moved as well, so wont change a thing.

Best is to reinstall to make sure everything is ok. You can try change the folder security setting for FSX, but you need to be very damn sure that you know what you are doing, otherwise you will end up in reinstallation your whole machine.

Have you tried both version of the Client? v2.0.0 and v2.0.2b? And I would recommend not to install the plugin version as we got a lot of reports that is has issues with Win7.

You could also try switching between FSUIPC and SimConnect in the Client Interface Options. Maybe it's an issue with one of the interfaces.
