Airliners.net is not correct.
Boeing is.
It's that simple.
In reality, what Boeing and Airliners list on their standard "range" is the maximum range with a standard payload, not "ferry range" (i.e. no payload). However, Boeing's Technical Documentation includes a zero payload range. This is the number which we use for all Boeing and McDonnell Douglas products. Where possible, we've used similar documentation for Airbus, Antonov, and other products, although it's hard to get sometimes due to age of the aircraft and the information policies of various manufacturers.

but that is not .... why than would it polsibly for all aircraft ,.... with cargo , how many seats and much much more ....

The 9000nm is the MAX possible range, you will never be able to fly that realistically unless you use a bad sim model.Todi wrote:but that is not .... why than would it polsibly for all aircraft ,.... with cargo , how many seats and much much more ....

Re: B747-400ER 9000 nm
But that is. If someone wants to fly a route that will cost them a lot of money becuase they can't put any revenue payload aboard, why should we? In addition, if you want to do a ferry flight from A-to-B for some reason, why prevent them from doing it? Remember, all that setting the range does is allow you to create flightplans between two airports that distance apart and use that airplane. You still have the client preventing you from loading enough fuel to make it and run over max weight with payload. In addition, if you fill the plane to the brim with fuel and then finish it with payload, you'll still not make full range because that weight means that you have to burn more fuel to carry it. So the planning needed for a successful flight is definitely still there. We've not done anything unrealistic by allowing the maximum range to be correct for the airplane.Todi wrote:but that is not .... why than would it polsibly for all aircraft ,.... with cargo , how many seats and much much more ....
