spam

Post by Telide » Wed Feb 04, 2009 6:13 pm

seems we are the latest victim of spam with at least 4 posts in the past few days in the Albatross Airlines forum

all seem to be made by guests

Hope to see a fix when the admins have time

EDIT: I have logged out and checked all other areas for possable problems the only other area I can find is the skylines catagory allows guests to post

I am starting to wonder if this spam problem is going to end anytime soon as it seems little or no effort has been made to resolve this i the simple task of deleting posts and revoving guest posting rights in the relevent forums

These are real people putting in applications and then spamming. All we can do is ban them and their IP, however we have to be careful as when we ban an IP, many people use dynamic IP's so we have to be careful that we don't then make others unable to access the forum.

As it is, Albatross is a defunct VA, so their forum needed to be deleted anyway.

The Forum Moderator has the ability to set what levels of users can post in their own forums. We (the System & Database Admins) do not set it.
