Limits?

Post by Copyrighter1 » Wed Nov 19, 2008 10:22 pm

Not sure if this the right place for this..

Can anyone explain the use of the "Limit Flights" number?

I understand the Limit PAX and Limit Cargo but just not that..

Does it mean that only a set number of people can fly that route at any one time?

Hi,

It will limit the number of times that plan can be used. Say you wanted a one-off flight then set limit to 1 and when you've finished the flight the flightplan will be deleted. If you want to use it twice, set limit to 2 etc etc.

Basically, this is being setup to allow for charters and short-term operations. That way you can have the routes automatically "expire" once the time is up.

Hopefully one of the next items will be allowing for certain flights to only be available during certain times of the year (i.e. seasonal flights). :)

That would be pretty cool Capflyer. We could add some "holiday" type flights... say... to the north pole (fairbanks, alaska) or maybe a ton of flights to vancouver from everywhere in the world for the 2010 olympics, etc, great idea...

ok, now ive been working on a master flight plan for about 2-3 months now... and it is still in the old format... do i have to add extra commas now to the end? or will they still upload with the old format?

No you don't have to add any new commas, the new fields will get default values if they are missing.

Hmm, so ok. The Limit about the cargo is ok, sometimes in longrange flights fsa let overweight the airplanes. BUT if you decide to limit it to 0, you will lose some money...

Then don't limit it to 0. If you can't put any payload on the plane at the range of the flight, then you need to replan to have multiple legs on that flight.
