New Client v1.0.4

Post by DaveB » Thu Oct 02, 2008 10:47 pm

Hi Guy's :D

First flight on the v1.0.4 client and no probs. Nice to see the fuel price/ltr added on the fuel page.. VMT for this. Only a small point but I'm sure there are many others who'll appreciate it

hey,

I'm sorry, but I didn't get, from CAPFlyer's post (http://www.fsairlines.net/forum/viewtop ... f=5&t=5038)
if it's ok to pause the simulator during flight or not..
would that cause a problem with the FSUIPC and the client regarding the fuel ?

10x.

Hi Jon..

As long as you have 'Pause on task' unticked.. you should be ok. A lot of problems have been caused by users NOT have Pause on Task unticked and have had the flight paused while logging into the client and/or when taking fuel (though I can't see the need for the sim to be paused at this point anyway) :)

Basically, when you start the Client, it has to get a "frame of reference" of where your SIM is at from FSUIPC. From there, it can begin tracking what's going on and monitor and record what it needs to for the system to work properly (like tracking fuel consumption). If you have the program paused (Pause on Task Switch or manual) when you are loading the Client, it is unable to get this "picture" of where your SIM is at because FSUIPC is not able to communicate with Flight Sim to get the information that the Client is asking for. Thus, it has no starting point, and will then just not report those things when it's done since it can't give a reliable number. Once the Client is started, you can pause because of two reasons -

1) FSUIPC (and thus the client) can detect the pause command and pause themselves.
2) The client has a "valid" frame of reference so it has a good start point so even if the information in the middle is interrupted, the information at the end should still be accurate and thus - no problem. :)

The new client works like a charm - even with newer versions of FSUIPC!

Almost 500 flights done with the new client and nobody screaming about major problems (at least not yet). Maybe I will actually have time to do some flights for fun soon 8)

I think we at CBFS have only had one prob (flight marked as cheat) on the new client and this was sorted in good time with a standard Admin fuel recalc. Go on.. give it a go for fun for a change

I am still waiting to see my flights reported but not good answer. When I press "end flight" appears a new window with a messaje towrite, I do not write anything but when I press enf flight again the client closes it self.

My PC is a P4 2.66Ghz 512Mb RAM GF6600

Would it be a better requirements problem...

That would be nice to have a solution, your Proyect is the best :)

Have you tried clicking the "Next" box rather than the End Flight box again?
