Client crash at the end of flight solution...

Post by DaKurt » Thu Sep 25, 2008 12:55 pm

Hey,

a lot of people are complaining that the client crashes when writing the comments at the end of a flight. I read an email today and saw something that I didn't think of before. Right now when you press the enter-key the client shuts down because this key is linked to the EXIT-button (don't ask me why, this is going to be changed in the next version). So pilots who wanted to make a new line in the comment-box or confirm the flight and therefore pressed the enter-key, actually closed the client.
So please remember:
Never use the ENTER key while using the client in version 1.0.2!

I did not use the enter key and the return key and it closes itself anyway. may be is the comments box.

Until this is fixed 227.. I'd strongly advise against using the comments box at all. Just hit the next key to continue on to the next page :wink:

I'm amazed you can run anything with only 512MB of RAM mate. :wink:

Here's something to try. I know this may sound a bit random, but I remember having this issue with the old flynet client and this helped.
When your flying, make sure the tracker is off... AND don't be logged into fsairlines website. The forum iss fine, but make sure your logged out of the fsa website. :wink:

Thanks for the tip guys. North Airways has just completed it's first flight on the new client with no trouble. Keep up the good work and fix those bugs! :mrgreen:

Well we thought of another problem. When you type characters like "& % = ..." into the comment box this could lead to the sql commands to break down. So if you have a problem with getting the flight information...could it be that there are any special characters in your va-name, user-name, password, va-description or anything like this? If so please write me a PM.

Good day to all.

The new client, 1.0.3, as all previous, crashed after pressing the button "End flight". BUT! Older clients sends flight report to the site before crashing. This client crashed before sending the report.

After I started client again, I hoped that I will see magic button "Upload PIREP". But I didn't see it. I tried to found anything looks like PIREP in client's directory, but found only log file...

Here is the part of it:

Code: Select all

...
27.9.2008 - 0:22:18.281 Debug: [CReport] Upload Tracker Data! (Descent)
27.9.2008 - 0:23:49.62 Debug: [CClientInterface] DATASTART

27.9.2008 - 0:23:49.62 Debug: [CClientInterface]  --> DATAEND
27.9.2008 - 0:23:49.62 Debug: [CClientInterface] Calculated code: acd
27.9.2008 - 0:23:49.875 Debug: [CClientInterface] DATASTART

27.9.2008 - 0:23:49.875 Debug: [CReport] Upload Tracker Data! (Landed)
27.9.2008 - 0:23:52.265 Debug: [CClientInterface] DATASTART

27.9.2008 - 0:33:6.671 Debug: [CClientInterface]  --> DATAEND
...
Also I have a standard WindowsXP error report. If you need it, I can send it to you. This flight I made with FSPassengers activated - I can sent their report too.

Hi Memphis, sorry about the crash. At what point did it crash? Before or after the entry of the comment? Did you enter a comment, if so what exactly did you enter?
