Huge Drop In Multiplier & "Still Rolling When Ending Flight"

Post by Myrm » Sat Sep 20, 2008 1:39 pm

Hi

Just completed my first flight in the new Client.

Had two scares when the usual End of Flight "ding dong" was heard on take-off and landing.

I note that our multiplier has dropped considerably (from x300 to x50). When was this altered? :?

I also got penalised 5% for "Still rolling when ending flight". What is that all about? I did nothing that I did not usually do on the old Client: Stopped at gate. Parking brake set. Engines off.

Why did I get that penalty? :?

I also notice when I loaded up the flight in the Client that on the final summary page before launching I noticed that there were buttons marked "Change" next to several factors, one of which was number of passengers. The "Change" buttons were not selectable. What is their purpose?

The new Client does look very nice though. Well done! :D

The multiplier has changed on FSAirlines.net. It's a bit harder now, above 10,000,000,000v$ airline value you will have 25 now:

value < 500,000,000 = 1000
value < 1,000,000,000 = 500
value < 2,000,000,000 = 400
value < 3,000,000,000 = 300
value < 4,000,000,000 = 200
value < 5,000,000,000 = 100
value < 10,000,000,000 = 50
value > 10,000,000,000 = 25

< = less than
> = greater than

(RED = admin edit)

And the "still rolling when ending flight" penalty is set if your ground speed is bigger than 0.5knots when you push the "end flight" button. Maybe that's a bit too sensitive, have to check that in windy conditions.

Konny, you need to review your 0.5 knots policy here. I have just been penalised again. The problem is, is that in FS you do not see the speeds in .5 units, only in whole numbers. So when I go to end the flight, I see 0kts, but the client is obviously registering over 0.5 and penalising me for it. It is most infuriating. :x

also the .5 might need to be increased because i know for a fact that some planes will move on idle with parking brakes set (posky 757) they do it alot when they are light too...

Actually konnys post left one thing out,

value < 500,000,000 = 1000
value < 1,000,000,000 = 500
value < 2,000,000,000 = 400
value < 3,000,000,000 = 300
value < 4,000,000,000 = 200
value < 5,000,000,000 = 100
value < 10,000,000,000 = 50
value > 10,000,000,000 = 25

some planes will move on idle with parking brakes set
This will only affect those pilots who don't shut down their aircraft properly before closing the flight ;)

No some aircraft (posky 757, Posky ERJ 140, CamSim A350, FiftyNorth B733) will start with parking break enabled but still move slightly until you apply a small amount of reverse thrust.

Yes, but the point is that they don't move unless the engines are running. ;)

@ Da Kurt

I note your reply to the other post on the subject of the "rolling" penalty, and thank you for addressing it. However, I also note that you locked that topic before anybody else had the chance to ask something further about it ( :( ), namely; do we therefore need to re-download/install the Client (assuming that it is the client that has been updated); the update date and number of the Client on the home page does not reflect any updates the the Client.

Many thanks.

sorry for the confusion. When I post "fixed in new version" I mean that the problem will be fixed in the next release...v1.1.0 :)

Hi DaKurt.

Many thanks for clarifying that.

I love the flight progress bar in the new FSAirlines signatures. :D
