New Pilot-assign flight and routes

Post by Queenofsky747 » Wed Jan 20, 2021 11:02 pm

Hello

For the new pilot who joins my virtual airline, I would like to be able to assign routes and planes to see what their skills are like.
For example:
Pilot Thomas Example have to fly 10 flights with the A320 only in Europe. After that he have to fly 5 middle range rotation.
Thereafter he can fly with a bigger aircraft and long haul everywhere.

It is possible to make this assignment, if not, maybe it`s possible to have this future in FSAirlines.

Thank you very much
Kind Regards

Interesting idea, sort of book a flight for another pilot, if that's what you're suggesting.

That would not be too complicated. Would have to change the logic on canceling flights a bit. If the pilot was assigned the flight, and then did not fly it, it probably would not be fair to charge them for that, it would have go back to the airline, or maybe the flight would not be actually booked until the pilot confirmed it.

You can achieve this precisely using 'Automated Ranks'. We have an entire career program set up where pilots must advance through the ranks step by step, gaining access to more fleets, aircraft and routes as they gain experience and promotions.

In fact we have 'training type ratings' set for more advanced aircraft and a newly promoted pilot must fly the training flight first to prove he/she can fly the larger aircraft satisfactorily before they get the full type rating.

To limit flight routes and fleets, you would have to structure your flight routes to be "fleet specific" for those levels during advancement. If you wanted a pilot to fly a specific set of routes in order, you can make a route system with 'limit 1' so they auto erase after one flight and the pilot has no other options but to take the next flight available. Save those flights in a CSV file and you can upload them again to your route system after the pilot has passed through that particular rank/routes.

It takes quite a bit of setup prep work in VA Settings and the Flight Route to get this to work, but it works great. Our Career Mode is a perfect "gamer filter" as the ones who are here to play video games and want to fly big jets immediately soon quit our little VA as they do not have the patience or discipline to go through our entire Career Mode.

I have made a few youtube videos' on the subject of Automated Promotions and setting ranks, you can find the links to them in the Getting Started section.
