Re: Rank System Upgrades
I have just got a new pilot to fly, but got promoted without havig to return to base ! She is carrying on with the training so will se if it works on next level.
After getting promoted to next level type rating is not being given automatically.

Re: Rank System Upgrades
Are you talking about Tracey Fearnley? If so I see the promotion requirements for your 'Pilot 1' is one flight, returning to EGCC, now the first flight they did is a flight on Jun 21, 20:11 going from EGNH to EGCC

Re: Rank System Upgrades
That was her second flight which earned her a second promotion. But type rating for next aircraft was not given automatically.!joefremont wrote: ↑Sun Jun 21, 2020 7:17 pmAre you talking about Tracey Fearnley? Re: Rank System Upgrades
The job that checks for promotion runs every 10 minutes, and it ignores flights completed in the last 5 minutes in case they need to be reviewed. I see Tracy's rank was last changed Jun 21, 20:20 and that last flight was at Jun 21, 20:11 which was before, so it would not be counted toward promotion.ABVG wrote: ↑Sun Jun 21, 2020 7:45 pmThat was her second flight which earned her a second promotion. Re: Rank System Upgrades
Well, by default, none. You can specify in your VA setting which is the default rank for new pilots and you can specify in that rank what type ratings you have, but they only get those ratings if you specify them.

Re: Rank System Upgrades
Question: Is there a way you can put a "counter" on the pilots' profile page?
Flights Hours required to achieved next promotion
Just curious as I can see the question coming up "where am I in this rank?"

Actually, I already put it on the logbook page

aha perfect thanks!
Re: Rank System Upgrades
So "adjusted hours" would be the number of hours accrued in rank? What about number of flights?
If they are just overall cumulative totals, then I still don't see how pilots will know how many flights/hours to go before their next promotion.
We would have to make a chart for our VA with the cumulative totals on it for them to figure out where they stand.

Re: Rank System Upgrades
At the top of that new table are totals since they joined the airline. "Adjusted Hours" are hours after they have been reduced by the simrate, If the pilot is on a track that could lead to promotion, then another section appears below with the title "Promotion Progress" which as the number of flights and/or hours they have accumulated toward that new rank. Depending on hour the rules are set up, it will show either the standard or adjusted hours the system has recognised for hours and the count of flights or sum of ratings for Required flights.

Re: Rank System Upgrades
I did add a new page called 'Assign Ranks' off of the 'View Ranks' page, but it shows raw hours from the flight reports, I did try to have it use the calculated 'standard hours' but I was finding it took too long to calculate all the hours for all the flights for all the pilots in larger airlines

Re: Rank System Upgrades
I have just rone more quick question .... the type ratings do not seem to be transferring to pilots with the current rank. Am I supposed to check "Promotion Required" boxes? Intuition would say that's only for the next level.

Re: Rank System Upgrades
No, that should work, do you have an example of someone for who it is not?

Re: Rank System Upgrades
oh oh duhhhhh
If you have 0 / 0 hours and no promotions, it seems the type by rank is deactivated.
All of our Senior Pilot ranks have every airplane NO in type rating by rank, yet their type ratings remain unaffected in their profile.
Including me, and I still have type ratings for aircraft we sold long ago. LOL
