Flight plan editing

Post by MMattyK » Tue Jan 21, 2020 6:15 pm

Good evening all :)

I was considering moving one of my Hubs, and was wondering if it would be possible on the flight plan edit page, to change routes en-masse?

In my case, I Have a lot of routes out of Lincoln Nebraska (KLNK), which I'd like to move to Las Vegas (KLAS) because of the package availability at Lincoln being so small.

When you try to do this up on the flight plan page, it only brings up the KLNK as the departure airport, there's nothing for arrivals, and there is no option to change the departure airport.

I was wondering if it would be possible to work out a feature to be able to edit multiple return routes from a particular location in one or two steps.

Not humongous issue, just me trying to save time lol

I love the export and import feature in the flight plan page. You can export your flights, ctrl+f all the routes you want to edit, edit them all in one go, then import the changes. Select "replace flight plans" so you don't double up your routes and make a mess.

I second this, Using Notepad++ also helps! :)

You can always export the routes as a CSV, import into a spreadsheet, edit, re-export and then load back with the 'replace' option selected.

I have been doing some work on that page recently, like changing the text file to csv file and improving the error handling.
I have a few other changes I still need to make, liket the export needs column headers added and the import needs to make sure that no changes are made if there are any errors in the import.

Edit: The above mentioned changes are done.

yeah and now none of my saved txt files will import :(

Google Sheets does not have any export feature. :(

We don't all have Excel.... $$$

Am I missing something simple here?

EDIT: ahhh disregard, my import must have timed to one of your changes .... it worked the 2nd time after I saved my notepad to "all files" instead of txt.

Google drive can do it with a little bit of a work around.

Under "File" > "Download" > "Comma-separated values (.csv, current sheet)".
Then you can open the file with a text editor and save it as a text file (you might have to remove the header and empty lines).

Hope this helps.

I'm getting this error "Invalid column count line 556, skipped" whenever i upload my route. In my sheet i only have upto line 555, so even though the cells are empty, the line 556 seemed to be read by fsairlines causing the error. So what I did i open the csv file using notepad+++ and indeed line 556 is there but without value, but its there, so a simple delete (backspace) removed the line and the upload was successful.

writing just in case some people will find it useful

YUP, the cursor in notepad must be at the END of the last line, not at the start of a new one. ;)

Sounds like you have an extra blank line at the end of the file. I should probably just suppress the warning message but the rest of the data should be imported.
