Hi Guys.....
I started a VA as "Vintage Aircraft Corp" I would like to be able to purchase old WWII aircraft such as the P40, P51, F4U to be added to my fleet and not just for private use. I was asked to post in the forum to see what the response would be from all of the other VA's and pilots.

Thank you;
Bryan

Hey Bryan, thanks for posting this. Up to the point we have not allowed single seat fighters for airlines. It was not really appropriate since they carry no passengers or cargo and no airline ever did. The were allowed for private pilots to buy since there fun and many were used that way. But if the members feel we should allow VA’s to use these aircraft we can revise this rule.

They should have at least a modified jump seat like the 2 seater P51 that gives expensive rides on the air show circuit.

Thanks Joe....
Would love to have them as part of the fleet. They cost money to fly and operate as we all know. As far as my VA, it is an airshow weekend and the other corporate aircraft that make money will make up the difference for the expense of operation.

Wish List P40 and P51 for fleet addition.

All The Best;
Bryan

A two seat trainer, that is being used by private companies would certainly be within the current rules. I was looking over the list of 'private' aircraft and noticed both the B-25 and T-38 are on the list. I know the Collins Foundations gives paid rides on there B-25 so I have already moved it into 'commercial'. Now if there are companies that give rides in T-38's I would have no problem making those commercial also but my short search did not show any in private hands.

I know there are two seat Mustangs and Spitfires out there so I added both of them to the database as commercial.

Edit: I also added the TP-40N (twin seat P-40N), I did not see any evidence of a twin seat F4U, except one prototype the Navy was not interested in so it was probably scraped or converted to a single seat before the end of the war.

For your airshows private pilots can 'rent' any aircraft in the database, including military aircraft normally not allowed.
