Would it be possible to turn on the ranking system Konny?

Would be possible, yes ;-)
Any nice ideas for the rank-names ?

As for the mods, there isn't so much life in here that I can't do that on my own. No need for mods, yet ;-)

0-24= Rampie
25-69= Ticket Agent
70-199= Flight Attendant
200-499= Captain
500-999= Chief Pilot

Just a suggestion...

I'm part of other forums, and those titles just entice people to spam...

Rankings aren't actually that good. They just give an idea of who has posted the most TIMES. This shows nothing about quality... for example I have posted 65 times. That doesn't mean any of it has been useful.

Having admin'd and modded my fair share of forums, let me just say this. Ranks don't make people spam. People who "spam" a forum are going to do it whether or not they get a point for it.

As for the quality part of it, sure....the solution to that though is to not look at someone's post count as a way of determining the worth of the information that person has posted.

I don't mind forum ranks, I use 'em on my site. It's just a fun little bonus thing to do on the side. But they're not the be all/end all to posting.

I see nothing wrong with them.

I fully agree with HyprionAirways, the ranks are just a funny little text below the username, and that's it.

Ranks can be good, but as said above people are likely to spam. But the easiest way to deal with spam problems is to just have a 'warning system'

I would say just leave it for now and once someone with no life comes along spaming deal with it then.
