Landing Lights buffer

Post by netshadoe » Sun Aug 02, 2009 8:46 pm

Would it be possible if there could be a 500-1000ft buffer (ie: 10500 or 11000) for the landing lights? I like to use FS2Crew with my flights, and that program turns off the lights just as it passes 10000 ft.

Thanks for your consideration,

The buffer is 94 milliseconds before the penalty kicks in.

Actually there should be a 1000ft tolerance. Maybe FS2Crew turns off the landing lights according to your current altimeter settings and not standard atmosphere settings (1013.2/29.92).

Thanks Konrad! I wasn't sure if that buffer was there or not...I saw the post that was made in 2005!! :D

I'm not sure how FS2Crew determines altitude. I'll do a few flights and let you know. 8)

Just had a look into the code as I remember that we changed that sometime ago and I was right, it's 100ft tolerance now, not 1000ft.

I see where my math was off when I provided the 94ms buffer time, forgot to account for time acceleration. Oddly enough though Konny, I had a penalty not kick in till 10475 feet rather than 10100.
