Please do a search before you post!

Aircraft that are NOT in civil service will not be added. the AN-225 will never be added unless a cargo control mechanism is designed. The 787 is not in service yet. And the C-5 and C-17 have never been commercially operated on a large enough scale.

What do you mean by "cargo control mechanism"? The An-124 is a similar size...

The An-124 and An-225 are totally different in size and capacity. The An-225 can carry almost 50% more than the An-124 and is not used in serial (i.e. normal) commercial service. It operates on a restricted Airworthiness Certificate that requires special permits and clearances for its flights. As such, it is only used for very large (dimensionally) or very heavy loads. Our system is not setup to handle such operations at this time. As such, it would give the aircraft an unfair advantage as the system is setup for package and containerized freight (something that the An-124's actually do carry on a fairly regular basis), not for outsized or heavy loads. This would result in the An-225 being able to make much more money than any others by several magnitudes, and thus the problem we ran into and the reason we've kept it out of the system for now.

What's happening with the AN225? For a long time it's been excluded from the FSA fleet. Now it appears to be in use with one airline (Legacair). Why doesn't it appear on any of the trader, lease, order aircraft lists? If only one (or two) are allowed to exist in FSA (to reflect the real-world situation), surely the only fair way to operate it would be to lease it daily to airlines on a waiting list, rather than allowing one airline a monopoly.

If it was allowed in by mistake, what can FSA Admin do to fix it? I'm glad it's now in the game but a monopoly is the least fair way to include it. Someone has been allowed to order another - FSA Aviation Inc has a 2nd An225 for sale, but it doesn't appear on any list. It will be interesting to see who's ordered it. Now it's in the game it should be all or nothing - either allow everyone access to it (either purchase or lease), or remove it again.

Tyler, please don't reply before an admin has a chance to answer unless you're sure of the answer.

As part of recent changes to the FSAirlines database, we are now able to restrict sales of aircraft in a much more meaningful way. Because of this, we can now accept additions of aircraft currently in the prototype and testing phase to have their information in (so we don't have 100 people trying to add it every week like we did with the A380), to specify aircraft for private sales only (like Warbirds), and to allow for "special" aircraft which we wish to allow, but restrict how many any VA can have.

As such, we can now, on a limited bases, accept aircraft like the A300-600ST "Beluga" and the AN-225. Purchases of these aircraft will be by request only, and no more than the real world availability will be allowed for any VA (i.e. no VA can have more than 1 AN-225 or 5 A300-600ST's).

HOWEVER the previous restrictions that aircraft being added must have civilian airworthiness still applies. We will not be allowing any more military-only aircraft onto the network.

If you wish to purchase any of these "Special" types of aircraft, simply submit a support ticket with the number you wish to purchase and an admin will add them to a private sale to your company.

didnt mean it as that WAS what happened... just figured it was like the last time.

question though, do you still want us to submit the requests, or do we just request the planes and you will add the entry to the system if its decided that its allowed?

Still submit the request. It's just that now we can accept them without worry of everyone and their grandmother buying them. :)

Also, if you haven't been into the system lately, we finally have the ability to respond with WHY we reject an addition, edit, or change request for Aircraft or Airports and give feedback when rejecting Airline Name Changes.

We hope that this will get a lot of the "why don't I see this?" questions answered much more quickly and efficiently.

In case there was any confusion - "Prototype" aircraft are NOT available for purchase except under very special circumstances. The category is simply to allow aircraft in testing to be added to the database in advance so it will be there when/if the aircraft enters service. If for some reason the program is canceled or fails to gain certification, then the aircraft type will be removed.

Should just be what it's at when you buy it. When you do maintenance, it'll reset to 100%. I think we still have is as assuming any such sale as being of a "used" airplane.

Also, with used airplanes you usually have to do a "C" check or equivalent to get the aircraft added to your operating certificate, so that is what drives the maintenance status reduction and not that you're getting it in "poor" shape.

Would airlines be able to buy these aircraft and then lease them out?
