Administrative Staff

Post by HS1 » Mon Jan 30, 2006 6:04 pm

Hi,

Due to the success of some airlines, I feel it necessary to enquire as to the possibility of a seperate system for administration staff, who do not fly but nevertheless contribute to the airline in a clerical capacity. We have recruited a Market Research Director, and - whilst the current FlyNET system cannot be faulted in any way - it doesn't yet accommodate those who are not pilots and have no interest in flying their own aircraft, yet wish to help with the airline nonetheless.

See you all in virtual flight!

Konny is working on that.

I believe he is going to restructure the flightplan page to make it more accessible, I think the idea of these "ground staff" is excellent. As well organized as Wardair's flight code system is, It could still be better, but I don't have the time to hunt through the list and update it. I think this administrative idea is very good, and I hope to see it implemented soon.

Flightplan wise it would nice to assign a certain aircraft to a route (that has already been mentioned before somewhere), and not allow you to assign that aircraft to an overlapping flight.

I attempted to 'model' this in Exel and still working on it as I work on my Winter/Spring schedule (check iFlySmart Forum later for more details) to have a time table showing all owned aircraft and the flights that they are assigned to and when they are airport. Will also show how many (if every flight was flown to the schedule at the same time) how many AC there are in the air at any given time.

Wow, I was about to get TOO complicated if I havn't already LOL.

Indeed, the ground staff would be an interesting idea. I have some doubts about how easy it will be to find people not mainly want to fly but I still like the idea. This would be more enhanced if the virtual salary offered more options. Konny is working in this or will work on this adding, casinos, private aircrafts and some ideas have been expressed about buyinh airline titles, houses and hotels. My feeling is that such a modification, requiring a market system to be created where titles gain and lose value etc, leads to a parallel economical system which cooperates with the airlines financial matters. For example someone, apart from buying titles, could buy hotels in specific cities and those hotels bring profit to the individuals depending on how many passegners arrive or pass from that airport (or airports in the vicinity). The ideas in this direction are endless and after a significant amount of time could really make FlyNet a whole virtual world.

Optimistic thoughts, high hopes or day dreaming?

We also have to remember that some people use Flynet because of the simplicity of the system...

Yet the existence of optional features does not prevent simplicity.

Provided it remains an optional feature, not a necessity. As it is some people are having difficulty using flynet because they don't understand the flight rating, book flight etc system.
