Airport search function

Post by sp762 » Sat Dec 01, 2007 12:50 pm

I know there's a workaround that lets you find an airport more quickly, but would it be difficult to have a simple search option, that lets you enter an airfield ICAO or name - then search the database for it?

Cheers,

Mike

(Just entered some unusual ones, BTW... wouldn't mind some approvals.) :)

Hi,

I believe that this is on the wish list/to do list. Until it arrives, there is a fairly quick way to get to the airport you want to. Since a lot of the pages have airport hyperlinks now, including the overview page, just click on any airport. Now look in the url address line and you will see the ICAO code for the airport you just selected. Highlight that ICAO and replace with the ICAO you want and hit enter. Voila!

yes u could do that, but if u dont know the icao code, u have to search manually through the airport list... and if u are just searching for a near by airport, then u have to do a real world search...

To help make searching for airports easier, I added a list of nearby airports to the bottom of the airport information page. It will show the closest 20 airports, out to a maximum of 60nm.
