More on private flights

Post by Ionathan » Mon Oct 29, 2007 2:41 pm

I've noticed that the multiplier is applied to private flights as well. Well, this is wrong. Private flights have no income but only expences which are multiplied and charged against the pilot's account but the personal income (from flights) is never multiplied. Therefore I suggest to prevent multiplier's usage from private flights. Don't you agree it's not fair?

Ionathan,
I purchased a private plane and it is setting in moth balls because there is no need to fly it. It makes no money, it is just in my hanger

That's my point. They bring no money but only expenses which charges our personal accounts (not the VA's). Even though I have done a few private flights just for the fun side of it. At least, those expenses should not by multiplied as our personal income is not either.

I agree it should be changed
when ever I go up in GA that my friends or people I know own I always
offer to pay for gas or barter my services (I'm an electrician)
like I went up in a jet ranger a few weeks ago with the pilot
to reset the compass and a few other things that needed attention
we did't go that far just around the airport then to the compass rose so the cost was nothing really
but we talked about a much longer flight soon , well he needs a surge protector
installed in the main panel of his home
I can buy one at a good price and it'll be far lees the the cost of renting time on one
so it's a fair trade
he gets something for the rider and I get the ride
couldn't there be at lest a zero cost for the flight?
what was the original idea of owning your own plane in FlyNET anyways?

Hi,

Something must have gotten changed by mistake as private flights have previously NOT had any multiplier applied. One for DK I think.

Yeah, that's new. Multipliers have never been applied to personal flights. Are you sure you didn't accidentally fly a VA flight?

Well, if you look at your logbook, you see the private flight expenses multplied by 100 (I fixed that for your flights Ionathan) but if you have a look at the individual flight report the multiplier is not used. The only problem is that I don't know how much money actually is deducted from your account...

No, it's ok. I've no problem with loosing some money by the specific flights. I just wonder why the expenses were multiplied by 100 when the pirep does not show any usage of the multiplier which eventually happened. Is it a bug, is it something fixed?
Anyway, I will try another private flight to see if it happens again.
