Scrapping airplanes

Post by cmdrnmartin » Mon Jan 09, 2006 6:21 pm

In addition to sell and lease, how about a scrap button, where we break down the aircraft, sell off the engines etc, and make 40% of the aircrafts market value. The aircraft is then stricken from the database and the registry becomes availible again. It would be handy if you we're in a money fix but the market was a bit stagnant at the time, plus, since you lose about 60% of the value of the airplane, its more of a last resort, people will still try to sell off the airframe first. As well, god forbid someone crashes an airplane, they could scrap it, instead of repairing it.

I like the idea. I don't know though how easy it is in implementation and I know Konny is already very busy but I support your idea.
