Selecting aircraft types for a flight plan.

When setting up a route, Would it be possible to select a number of aircraft types for a single route?
I am trying to replicate an historic airline that used seven different types of jets over mostly the same routes and used them interchangeably.
Yes I could create a different flight for each AC but that's a lot more work, and if FlyNET adopts a system that takes into account the number of flights between two cities when calculating the number of passengers it could distort things.
