ive been wondering about this for a couple of days now and im gonna ask...

when someone orders a aircraft that is now longer in production, how is it that some say they are owned by an airline? is there a message or something that gets sent out, asking people if they will sell? or are they made up names?

They are made up names. It's done because an assumumption is made that an out of production aircraft must be used and thus have a previous owner. As such, a previous owner is assigned (I believe he uses a list he created of "former owners", but I'm not sure exactly how it's setup, that's a question only Konny can answer) when the aircraft is added to the trader's market.
