There are several types of aircraft that have the same ICAO for the same airplane.

All variants of the 747-400 are B744.

All variants of Convair turboprops are CVLT (500/540/580/5800/600) and all Convair pistons are CVLP (CV240/340/440).

All 777-200 variants are B772, all 777-300 variants are B773.

All A300-B2 & -B4 series aircraft are A30B, all A300-600 aircraft are A306.

All A310's are A310, no matter what it says after the dash.

The "Type Designator" field is the ICAO Code for the aircraft. The codes are listed by the CURRENT holder of the type certificate, so some aircraft that you would normally find under another name (like BAC, ATR, etc) will be found under their current TC holder (BAe and Aerospatiale respectively).

Ok, I got it.
It wasn't the client which had problems with different aircrafts with the same ICAO-Code. It was the website, the aircraft-repair-page to be exactly. Should be fixed now.
