client says FS isn't running, but it is!

hi,
I have just booked a flight from Jersey - Heathrow using a B733. FS 2004 is started and my plane is at the departure gate and the client is started (i have also downloaded FSCUIP4) and when i click 'fly booked flight' and error box appears.
It says "MS Flight simulator is not running"
any help would be greatly appreciated as this is the 2nd time its happened
