Ground Taxi Speeds, Wind & FlyNET Client

Post by Myrm » Thu Dec 27, 2007 1:33 pm

Hi

Does the FlyNET Client take into account wind speed when taxiing?

I know that FlyNET gets upset if you taxi over a speed of 20 kts, but when I landed at ESMS today there was a wind speed of 13 kts on the ground, coming directly at me, which meant that even when stationery, FSX stated that I was moving forward at a speed of 9 kts. Does the Client take this into account, or am I going to have to crawl along at what is effectively 11 kts so as not to get pinged by the Client?

Many thanks.

Hi,

Yes, the client does take this into account, If you are able to look at the client whilst flying/taxi-ing, you will note that it records groundspeed and airspeed. Beware when taxi-ing downwind!
