Standard Fueling Method problem

Post by BigJim » Sun Jan 21, 2007 8:12 pm

I was about to start a flight from Awkland to Sydney using the new Posky 747-SP, a previous flight of about the same distance used 25000kg of fuel so I decided to take 35000kg on board for the flight, the AC had 33254 already on board so I asked the client for an aditional 1734 using the 'standard' method and started the flight. I had bairly finished the climb when I ran out of fuel.

I killed the client, reset the flight and started again, this time the client said I had only 1734kg on board, I fueled the ac using the 'detailed' method and the flight is proceeding normally.

So in the standard method you input 34988kg?

On the first attempt I entered 1734 using the standard method to bring the total up to 35000 (33254 was a typo, There was originally 33266kg on board).

Ok if I am wrong someone will correct me I am sure.

The way that I understood that you did the standard way is as follows.

If I have 16,000kg left over and I want 30,000kg for my trip I would take on 14,000kg extra. So I would input 30,000kg of fuel and I then would get charged 14,000kg because I already had 16,000kg left.

By inputing only 1734kg you essentially drained your tanks of anything over the 1734kg.

I'm personally waiting to fly for couple days. I asked the last time around {6.5}, a simple question about whether standard mode was supposed to ad fuel to what you already have, {ie, 20+20 =40} or, if the amount you enter is the amount that ends up in the tanks...

No one answered because 6.6 was presented and besides,I figured it out myself.. Good luck.. that's ll I can say..

It's hard to make sure it all works,, I guess..

Well I understand that there are a lot of people that do not speak or read English to good. So I will help where I can.

I have used all the methods and they all worked fine for me as advertised. But I fly a different plane that might not have the same issues as others. :D

I just checked this myself, the client clearly says 'STEP 3: enter amount of fuel to be added'.

I belive it was changed to work this way with the new 6.5

Hmmm then perhaps it needs to be looked at.
