Advertisements
Hi all,
I started adding advertisments today. I've read in the "new features & ideas" forum that you want something to promote your airlines, so this first sort of advertisement gives you the chance to upload a selfmade banner-ad which will then be shown at the login-site. There will come more ads at different places and for a different audience ( for example the virtual passengers who will then prefer your airline to others ), but first of all you have to understand how the current login-ads work:
If you want to place an advertisement you'll see the following options:
Clicks
Here you can set up how long the ad will be on the login-site. Each time a person goes to the login-site the click-count will decrease. So if you type in 100 clicks, the ad will be online until the login-site has been visited 100 times.
Width/Height
Here you have to enter the size ( in pixels ) of you image. The width ist fixed at 350, but you can choose a height from 100 to 400 pixels ( changes price ).
Banner
Here you have to enter the local path to your image.
If you place an ad while there still is an active ad by another airline your ad will be placed in the queue and you can see the number of clicks until your ad shows up on the Advertisments-site.
And if your ad is active you will see how many clicks you have left until your ad disappears.
Maybe the prices need adjustment ( I think they're very high ) but you got so much money from the cargo-system the last weeks that I think it won't hurt at the moment

Can we put in multiple advertisements? IE put in more than one, not just change it?
Say, choose where they get displayed? Login Page, Database Page, New Pilot Registration Page
And when they are on the page, can they be rotated through, instead of say 200 clicks then the next in que, each one gets one view, cycling through all the advertisements?
And maybe, if its clicked upon, it takes someone to the Airlines respective overview page?
Just some ideas, I definetly like the way this is shaping up!

Different advertisements on different pages will follow when I have time to. But currently I'm satisfied with this one page , let's so how it develops.
Rotation instead of queues is a good idea, I'll change that soon.
And I just put links to the va-website on the images. Would you prefer the airline overview page ?

Well to me I prefer the overview page, since if they are still interested they can head to the home page from there. The overview gives them a quick idea about the airline, and I think that's what most people want to see.
Although I could be wrong.
Comments, questions, Suggestions?
This is a wickedly cool new feature! (Already spent 6 million on it!)

These are the four in rotation from what I can tell. And I don't think yours is all that bad, it has an address for one thing, and if you really dont like it, you can upload another one, at no extra cost (just hit the edit button again, and upload a different picture)
