I think the 'Vargas Girl' has been part of aviation art since WW2 and isn't actually offensive. No close up frontal nudity or photorealism and I think you'll be alright.

Personally, I don't think it is, but it's treading close to the edge. We are airlines here. :)

BTW, can we take this to PM's or e-mail? I don't really think we need to be posting every ad here first, it kinda defeats the purpose of posting them in the main website. :)

i dont think any of it is offensive, as long as its not a full nude shot. I mean heck, during WWII it was done all the time, and even more graphic then wat is being done here. even in the USAF's museum in dayton OH, there are a/c in there that has nose art on it, or it has something to do with its name.

I don't know if real airlines should have such ads, but I think that it's completely OK! It's just a VIRTUAL girl in a bra. You can see thousands of real girls in such bras in real life on a beach, and that isn't offending, too. is it? ;)

but of course american and european opinions on this topic are very different, so we should probably just stick to the american one so that nobody will be offended :)

I tend to agree with that Claudio, but the rule is based on whether it's "tasteful" use of the images or not. Some of the images we used to have were just flat-out stupid and one did actually contain frontal nudity, something that is inappropriate for a site which has frequent visitation by persons under the age of 18. In the US for us to allow even animated images of such things is illegal (I think it is in Europe to) as it is considered to be a "pornographic" image.

As well, I think what we were trying to do was avoid the use of a lot of alcoholic beverages in ads (there was an airline that was banned for putting up ads like that) since again, there are a lot of minors and in most of the world, advertisement like that isn't allowed.

Ill just change it.

My airline targets the male demographic, in my mind anyway.

As I said Mike, yours is fine. Just don't go much further than that. I still consider that PG-13, which is acceptable.

Just think of it this way - PG-13 = OK, R = No Go. (works for those of us in the US at least). :)

Nope, they're still there. Most schools filter out a lot of the image hosting sites.
