Aircraft Type Database Update Help Needed!

Post by CAPFlyer » Sun Apr 22, 2007 12:49 am

With the implimentation of MZFW in the loading calculations, some updates to the database are now needed more than ever. If you'd like to assist the DB Admins in this process, please use the following guidelines when checking and updating the information in the database:

For light aircraft where an MZFW is not given (like the C172 or similar) the MZFW and MTOW can be considered as the same, so put that in. As the aircraft aren't used for revenue flights, the MZFW isn't as important as it is with the Commercial aircraft.

For aircraft where the MZFW is not available but the MLW is (Maximum Landing Weight), take the MLW and subtract 20% from that. This should give a sufficient space to ensure that with maximum payload and minimum fuel reserves, the aircraft will be under the Maximum Landing Weight.

Maximum Cargo Weight must be for the version specified. If the aircraft type is a passenger aircraft, then the maximum cargo weight must be for the passenger version. If the aircraft type is a Combi, then the maximum cargo weight must be for the Combi version. If the aircraft type is a Freighter, then the maximum cargo weight must be for the Freighter version. Please adhere to this; adding additional to this will not give you any advantage over anyone else since the limiting factor is MZFW, not maximum capability now, so there's no reason to inflate the numbers.

Thanks in advance for your help in keeping our database as accurate as possible!
