EXPLANATION: New refueling method!

Post by DaKurt » Thu Jan 18, 2007 10:20 pm

Hei guys,
please read this before using the new refueling method!

The second refueling method which is now available in FlyNET is called "COMPARE", because it compares the amount of fuel left from the last flight with the amount of fuel you put in manually in Flight Simulator. In order to get it right, you have to start FS and fuel your plane BEFORE you start the client!

Furthermore the different amount of fuel in different tanks (Center Main, Center 2, Center 3, Right Main, Right Aux, Right Tip, Left Main, Left Aux, Left Tip) are now saved seperately. In the previous version only the sum was saved.

ATTENTION:
If you put less fuel in you aircraft than you already own it will be gone without a compensation!

I just started a flight with it and I LIKE the new look and feel. I have to retrain my brain now to convert KG into LBS. I was getting used to KG.

So far I LIKE the compare method as it makes me think more!

How does it work ? Is the 'Compare' method of refuelling for the 'arcade' style of FlyNET ?
This is my dilema.
For realism and the fact it makes proper economical sense, UKD load more fuel at the airports with cheap fuel (always keeping below MTOW of course) and less at aiports with expensive fuel. So, on some flights we fly in to an aiport with enough fuel to get out to our next destination because the fuel is so expensive.
I cannot get the 'Standard' method to work, (Fuel goes to Zero), so I must use the compare method. How does the Client know where the fuel came from ? The prices differences at airports are 1.11v$ to 1.54v$, thats a hike of nearly 50%, can't afford to run around ignoring the cost of fuel like this.
(Should I post ths in the 'bugs' forum ?)

Cheers now

The compare method is in my opinion not the arcade method the standard is the arcade method in my thinking if you have to call one arcade. :?

The compare method looks at what you put in your tanks and compares what you had then charges you for any extra above what was in your tanks. For me it allows me to put fuel in the tanks that I want for balance. The other method does not take in to consideration where to put the fuel.

Not here it doesn't, it charges me for the fuel I burnt during the flight. Look at the example below.
A short (20min) flight with a Saab 340 in Scotland. Loaded no fuel, and got charged for the fuel used during the flight.

Comment
not sure about the fuel !

Finances
Income from tickets: PAX ( 34 ) x Ticketprice ( 61v$ ) 2074v$
Fuel cost: Fuel Price ( 1.12v$ ) x 1.234 x Fuel Bought ( 184kg ) -254v$ <--- wrong, this looks like fuel burnt on the trip to me ??
------------
I'll go and do the return trip and see what happens - good stuff this Beta :P
Btw sorry if the 'arcade' came across the wrong way - eerrmm . . . . the 'easier' refueling method better ?
Cheers now

Got to ask the question, could it be a problem with the Saab?

My figures are for a 777-300 Boeing.

Now this was from empty fueling going to San Francisco.

Fuel cost: Fuel Price ( 1.67v$ ) x 1.234 x Fuel Bought ( 22578kg ) -46528v$

I will have to see what the return trip does.

This was a flight to and from Anchorage Alaska from Phoenix Az. It charged me only the extra fuel that I bought and at the price in Alaska. So I am not sure why your getting what your getting for results. :?

To Alaska >>>>>> Fuel cost: Fuel Price ( 1.67v$ ) x 1.234 x Fuel Bought ( 54372kg ) -112049v$

From Alaska >>>>> Fuel cost: Fuel Price ( 1.48v$ ) x 1.234 x Fuel Bought ( 30879kg ) -56395v$

Done another flight
and . . . .
Egg on Face . . . <splat>.
This client is very clever, you are quiet correct it does charge for fuel that you load, and not fuel burnt. I must try to read and understand English a little better.
Thanks for your help.

I am really liking the individual tanks refuelling method! Great job! Just want to express my gratitude for Flynet! You guys never cease to amaze me with your dedication to this project.

Somebody help a newbie...I am used to lbs because that's the way my flight simulator calulates...So I suppose you have to take from the FS2004 lbs and convert it to kg however, I find that after accessing the client and etc...I am no longer able to access FS2004 again to change the fuel...So what do we do...Maybe somebody can find a simple program that will do this....I know this doesn't make sense to all you advanced pilots, but I need some simple guidance on this subject...

To convert lbs to kg, multiply by 0.4536 to get kg.

Hi,

This is a very old thread and the refuelling has changed a bit since. I suggest you read this thread which gives you a bit of a walkthrough. You should not try and change your fuel once you have loaded the client. Load your fuel in the sim before you start the client or if your sim model is compatable use the client to do all the refuelling. The walkthrough explains it all.
