How to Simulate Flight Seoul - Buenos Aires in B787-800???

Post by yvjjflores » Thu Apr 08, 2021 1:42 pm

We recently saw the news of a flight between Soul (RKSI) and Buenos Aires (SAEZ) without stops B787-800 Comlux.

Trying to test using FSA, it obviously tells me that the plane is out of range.

In this case, how could this (or other flights) be simulated without range restriction in FSA? ...

Article does not say how much if any "payload" was involved.

Why would you want to fly 20 hours for a negative flight revenue?

At max fuel capacity, you can only carry 13,418 lbs of payload.
The normal payload (MZFW - DOW) = 90,555 lbs.

So you will have to give up 77,137 lbs of payload just to have the fuel to fly the trip.

Looking the article you mentioned, it was a 10,520 NM, 20.3 hour flight. But it was not an airline flight but a private flight in a private aircraft, meaning no passengers or cargo and probably customized with auxiliary fuel tanks in the cargo hold. I don't think this is something we need to replicate for revenue flights.

While the booking of VA flights checks the aircraft range, the booking of private flights does not, so I think the system will allow you to replicate the flight as described in the article.
