I found a Douglas C-47 Sky train add on and I was wondering if it would work with the Douglas C-4?

From reading on here before I believe they need to have the same number of engines, where as I think the DC-4 has 4, the DC-47 has 2? Additionally they need to have similar Dry Takeoff Weights (DOW). I'm not sure on the threshold for the DOW limits, but I believe this is the two things FSAirlines looks for to accept the plane as suitable for the one you have said you're going to fly.

The system will not accept the twin engine C-47/DC-3 as the four engine DC-4. As Jason pointed out the engine count is different and it is a much lighter aircraft.

Joe, are you able to say what the tolerance is on the aircraft weights?

The MTOW and the DOW needs to be within 20% of what we have in the database, and you can use a heavier aircraft but not a lighter. Also the number of engines must match.

Ok I thought the Dc-4 was same as dc-47 just 7 left off, which one would fit closer to it? I also noticed the dc-47 in msfs 2020 does not show ceiling limit, and range anyone know where id go in the mod folder to fix it? or if there any other things like weight i need to adjust?

I think there is the confusion.

DC-4 is not a C-47, but it is a C-54. C-54/DC-4 models can be used interchangeably.

DC-3 is a C-47, C-47/DC-3 models can be used interchangeably.

The order will eventually put an aircraft into the market for you to buy, you are not required to do so you can just ignore it.
