Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020

Post by mrgaither54 » Sat Mar 21, 2020 3:19 pm

I was curious if there was a way to connect the client to the new Flight Simulator 2020 alpha. Has anyone been able to do this or is there anything in the works to be able to connect it to the new sim? Anyone know any tricks?

In fact yes it does work, use the beta client and the simconnect interface.

I have done a few flights in FS2020, biggest limitation is the available aircraft, just a few GA built-in and third party AC are not available yet.

Just wanted to piggy back this thread and ask about aircraft types available in fs2020 verses fsairlines,

What amount of flexibility is built into FSA client when flying similar type/size aircraft to the aircraft in fsairlines?

Can a Boeing 787 10 take the place of a B777 for example?

Can the Airbus neo take the place of the B738

Or this that not possible

To the best of my knowledge, radical type substitutions are not permitted. You CAN change a configuration file on a 737-800 to match the weights of a 737-700, etc. but to use a completely different type I don't think has ever been allowed on this platform.

You will probably get away with it, the client mostly looks at the weights and the engines to determine if your flying the right aircraft and the A320/B738 are pretty close in size and configuration, as is the B772/B78X. But if it were me I would just get the correct aircraft and add them to your fleet.

Hi Joe and fellow others,

since the final release version of MSFS for me it looks like that the running fsa client produces some stutter within the sim. I didn't notice that in the Beta btw as far as I can remember. Using the latest Beta 2.4-rc4. As soon as I stop the client and close it the sim is smooth again.

Can someone else confirm?

Cheers

It looks like the SimConnect issue with stuttering is a known problem and there a numerous threads on the MSFS forums about it. Hopefully MS comes out with a fix soon. Look here: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/search?q=simconnect

For anyone coming across this post seeing the above.

The developers have acknowledged the issue with SimConnect that is vastly affecting third party programs (literally all of them). The effect seems to be less on software that doesn't stream data from the software that often, but is still a problem. This fix should be out within the next 5 days or so.

I currently use FSA with X-plane but as I have a TBM in my fleet would like to use MSFS for those flights - I have never used FSA with anything other than X-plane, how do I go about getting the client working with MSFS?

Thanks!

Easiest way is to get the latest version of FSUIPC which you can find here

https://forum.simflight.com/topic/90193 ... -for-msfs/

Run that utility before staring MSFS and the FSA client.

FSAirlines Client V2.4-rc5 - https://www.fsairlines.net/en/downloads
FSUIPC7 beta - https://forum.simflight.com/topic/90193 ... -for-msfs/

Run FSUIPC7 alongside your FS2020 running (don't need to do anything else with it once running) and FSAirlines will detect the sim from that point.
