Fly a 747-8 route with a 747-4? What aircraft.cfg field does app look for?

So, I was considering getting the PMDG 747-400 and flying routes for my VA. The problem is, I don't want to ask my VA to purchase another 2 really expensive jetliners (passenger and cargo version)...we already have the 747-8s (I hate the freewares for those). My question is, what exactly does the FSAirlines app look at in the aircraft.cfg files for the aircraft type being used. Will it recognize straight out of the box because it's a 747 (as in, any 747 model would work), or would I need to edit one of the fields in the aircraft.cfg (perhaps the ui_type). Just trying to see if this would work before I spend $135 on the PMDG 747. Is this making sense?

Mostly what it looks at are weights, empty and loaded, since the -8 is heavier if you were to adjust the aircraft.cfg file you would throw off the flight model of the aircraft. And if we ever put in a payload checker in the client you would be at a disadvantage using a -400 as a -8.

And since -400's are much less expensive than -8's you might want to suggest to your VA the get one for you.
