Anyone familiar with Paro, Bhutan, will know it's one of the most difficult airports in the World to land and take-off at. Due to it's surrounding mountainous terrain, complex steep approach and climb-out, 6562ft runway and 7200ft altitude, only a select few aircraft can use it. For a while the largest was the Druk Air BAE146 (with it's good STOL performance) but recently Druk introduced the A319-100LR.
That's the reality part over - a check of aircraft using Paro in fsairlines shows virtually anything from 747s, 777, A340s, MD11s, Tu154s, Il86s, An225 and many more very unsuitable aircraft are scheduled to fly through Paro. For a sim that likes to replicate the real world, this is the ultimate in unrealistic.
Not wanting to be a spoil sport, but is there any way to tackle this blatant disregard for reality? Of course, not all 20 something thousand fsx airports can have their own tailor made fsairlines aircraft limitations, but maybe a select few can? It would be a start at least. If that's not the right way, how about a runway minimum length stat (in each aircraft stat) - just like each aircraft have a max range limit for routes booked? Surely something that isn't too hard to introduce can be done, to bring a bit of realism to this airport and others like it.
